2018 Little Reddie Malmsbury Cabernet Sauvignon - Macedon Ranges, VIC. 750ml
The Rush Brothers property is 5 acres planted to; Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Cabernet sits at the lowest part of the vineyard and is a substantial planting comparative to the other varieties. It’s lovely to have bottled this wine as a companion to the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, showing another side to this site. 1988 planting dry grown on own roots.
Winemaking- Picked happily ripe at the very end of March. Entirely destemmed and fermented on skins until dryness (14 days). Regular pump-overs. Pressed to tank to settle and then aged in two very old hogsheads for 9 months. 25 ppm sulphur before being bottled under Stelvin.
