2021 Chanterêves Bourgogne Blanc - Burgundy FRANCE 750ml
Tomoko and Guillaume source the majority of the fruit (66%) for their Bourgogne blanc from Maranges in the Côte de Beaune. The balance is from a site at the southern tip of Beaujolais (near Lyon), named Les Pierres Dorées. The soil here is comparable to that of Chassagne-Montrachet in that there is a high content of Bajocian limestone. According to Tomoko, Maranges brings mineral tension and density, while the Pierres Dorées parcel adds bright floral and fresh stone fruit character. The 2021 was raised in a variety of barrels and is, in Tomoko’s own words, “the most beautiful Bourgogne Blanc to date in our cellar.”
