2024 Heroes Chardonnay - OTWAYS, VIC. 750ml
Notes of lemon butter, lemon rind, meadow flowers, nectarine skin, white rind cheese on the nose. Following on the palate with lemon citrus, pea shoot, oyster shell, toast, pine nuts, vanillin oak. Mouth filling and textural, with persistent length.
Vineyard Location: Otway Hinterland, VIC
Soil: Tertiary sandstone/siltstone, sandy clay loams over highly penetrable clay and weathered sandstone.
Varieties: Chardonnay
Harvest date: 7th March 2024
Yield: 1kg per vine / 1.2 tonnes per acre
Fermented: Whole bunch pressed and fermented with wild yeasts in French oak.
Maturation: 10 months in French oak (all second fill, no new)
Alcohol: 12.9%
Bottling date: Feb 2024; bottled without fining.
Production: 90 cases.
