2022 Philippe Robert 'Champs Perdrix' Marsannay, BURGUNDY, FRANCE. 750ml
90% de-stemmed Pinot Noir from a 1.1 acre vineyard. Champs Perdrix is the iconic vineyard of Marsannay. Sitting at the top of the village backing right up to the combe and surrounded by pine forest. Elevation is around 390 metres above sea level on thin rocky soils over almost pure limestone. Thirty five year old vines, hand picked, five day cold soak followed by a long slow fermentation in old concrete open fermenters, pressed to Burgundy tonneau of which around 20% are new. The wine then spends 18 months in barrel before being assembled for bottling. A wine of wonderful colour, great balance and a mineral element due to the limestone influence. Unique Burgundy.
