Tasting Teobaldo and Maria Rivella’s wine is like stepping back into PIemonte’s past, when the wines were perhaps less showy and immediate as they are today. Rivella crafts one of Barbaresco’s most unique and compelling wines from his holdings in the famed Montestefano cru. The sole Barbaresco here is made along super-traditional lines, and see several weeks on skins followed by about two and a half years in cask, which is long for Barbaresco.
