It is a wine born in 1997 thanks to a rather singular episode, linked to a "robin" a little bird who entered the cellar (which rarely happens) and landed on an old barrel, chirping almost to mean something. By chance, Isabella Perego, a few days later, tasted a sample of that barrel, and decide to bottle it together with some other barrels to create a perfect balance in the bottle, with a label dedicated to that little bird. Technically 1999 was vinified and aged in steel for 34 months, then raised for 48 months in 50hl barrels before the different masses were uninformed again in steel and then bottled. A wine show perfectly the beauty of this heroic viticulture in the alpine region of Valtellina, terraced vineyards on ancient soil. Complexity is the adjective that will describe the wine, with the age here some balsamic and earthy elements are present on the glass, thus show a terrific long time of living. An experience to be had !
