2020 Nadia Curto 'la Foia' Barolo, PIEDMONT, ITALY. 750ml
Since the name Arborina, referring to the vineyard, is already used for the modernist Barolo, Nadia decided to use a fanciful name for this more traditional version: La Foia, which means leaf in the Piedmontese dialect. This Nebbiolo is made very traditionally, with long maceration in wooden vats, pump overs, and aged in large oak barrels. I was struck by the very exotic spiciness and the glorious drinkability.
