2022 Peter Lauer 'Fass 2' Riesling - Saar, Germany. 750ml

The 2022er Ayler Riesling N°2 is a bone-dry wine (with less than 4 g/l of residual sugar) made from fruit picked in the front, east-facing part of the original Kupp hill, in the upper section near Stirn. It was not destemmed and mash fermented, before being mature in a new Fuder. It offers a comparatively rich and aromatic nose of almond, gooseberry, toffee, roasted coffee bean, smoke, and licorice. The wine has a quite creamy and broad side on the palate, yet there is some tartness and spicy elements joining the party. The structure is light, yet the finish shows some tannins and greengage-given bitter-sweetness. 2024-2028 Mosel Fine Wines
