2018 Radikon Jakot - Friuli ITALY 500ml
Made from 100% Tocai Friulano, the variety Stanko referred to as Tokaj until it was made illegal to (Jakot is Tokaj spelled backwards). Maceration on skins for 3 months and aged in barrel for 3 years. More powerful than Oslavje but more focused than the Ribolla. Intense orange-yellow with coppery tints. Intense and complex nose with notes of almond, tropical fruit nuances and exotic spice.
Vintage 2018 ‘Spring started 2 weeks earlier than usual, the season continued balanced and warm, with a complete ripening of the grapes two weeks before usual. Temperatures still quite high in the first part of the harvest.’
