2014 Rémi Leroy 'Blanc de Quatre Cépages - Mer Sur Mont', CHAMPAGNE, FRANCE. 750ml
From lieu-dit Mer Sur Mont in Meurville on pure rocky Portlandian limestone. The vines are 65 years old and stand on the rare and special rootstock 3309 C which gives a low yield and gives a near unpolished result.
Ploughed vineyard with natural grass cover in the Côte des Bar. Four different varieties (the unusual additional one being Pinot Blanc) are vinified seperately on their lees and then the wine is bottles at the end of Spring. 7 years on lees - Disgorged May 2021 and the dosage is 6g/L.
A most delicate Champagne here, with green apple and lemon sherbet on the palate. A lovely creaminess leads into a nutty, biscuity finish. Very expressive, perfectly balanced.
