2016 Gerard Mugneret Vosne Romanee, Burgundy-FRANCE

I (Jen) tend to lean towards personal tastes of red burgs from Vosnee Romanée. Not for any particular reason but I often fiind more structure, more acidity and more saline qualities. And this Gerard Mugneret fits that bill nicely.

2016 saw pretty much everything thrown at the vines. Frost, mildew, hail and very very low yields. Notes from tasting (not mine) "modest today but the nose is still faintly saline with a spicy complexity. Growing florals - getting better and better - ooh now it's really top-level! In the mouth, a little sweetness, some rigour but beautifully complex and showing fine freshness. Layered finish. Super villages!" - Burgundy Report.
