2020 Lignier-Michelot 'Cuvée Bertin' Gevrey-Chambertin - BURGUNDY, FRANCE. 750ml

Comes mostly from a parcel of .53 ha of vines planted in 1969 in Les Seuvrees which borders on to Grand cru Charmes Chambertin close to the Morey St Denis border (also small parcels from Creux Brouillard and Es Murots located further north just below the village of Gevrey Chambertin). 200 dozen produced.

“The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin "Cuvée Bertin" is 100% whole bunch this year. It has a welcoming bouquet with more red than black fruit, touches of cassis developing in the glass, the oak neatly enmeshed. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, good depth, though here, it needs to muster more complexity and tension on the finish.” (87-89) Vinous Media, Neal Martin December 2021

”(from Les Seuvrées, Creux Brouillards and Les Murots). Slightly riper aromas of poached plum, cassis, violet and earthy nuances give way to intense, detailed and muscular flavors that display both moderate rusticity and austerity on the solidly complex and lingering finale that is sufficiently structured to repay up to a decade of cellaring.
